To be quite frank, we live in a world that tells women and young girls everywhere, that we are supposed to look and act a certain way. Our breasts have to be big, but not too big. Our stomach has to be perfectly flat, and our butts have to be Kardashian worthy. We have to have smooth, blemish-free skin that only comes from wearing foundation, yet we get apprehended for wearing "too much makeup." Amongst billboard after billboard of perfect and beautiful women, I can't help but wish that there was someone up there to represent the minorities. I have compiled a list of my (s)heroes, who make girls like me feel better about not meeting society's high standards of the female body—whether that be physique, skin color, or anything else considered a "blemish."
1. Ashley Graham uses her modeling career to prove that there is no specific size for beautiful, and that being fit and healthy doesn't necessarily have to equal "flat stomach."

2. Chantelle Brown-Young may have Vitiligo, a rare skin condition that causes discolored pigmentation, but her look celebrates uniqueness in an amazing way. Another interesting fact about Brown-Young, is that she starred in cycle 21 of America's Next Top Model.

3. Former Olympic swimmer, Casey Legler uses her androgynous look to model both men's and women's wear. She actually became the first female ever to be signed to Ford's men's line. Legler embraces her traditionally "masculine" look to show that different can actually be better, because she gets a leg up in the job market by working for both men and women fashion divisions.

4. Madeline Stuart rocks her extra chromosome in a way that revolutionizes the modeling industry's straight and narrow perception of what a model should look like. She exudes a certain confidence that you can't help but love! You go girl!

5. For Melanie Gaydos, her Ectodermal Dysplasia means that she has irregular development in her teeth, bones, pores, and cartilage. However, she flaunts her exquisite look by working for modeling campaigns that celebrate her appearance in an inspiring way. There is no denying that Gaydos's unconventional features make her look like a gorgeous work of art.

6. Although a horrific drunk driving accident caused Brazilian model Paola Antonini to lose her leg, it didn't slow her down one bit. Instead, Antonini uses her present state to encourage young women to embrace the different things that make them beautiful, and especially not to let anything hinder their zest for life.

7. Diandra Forrest is one of few people in the world that has Albinism, which contributes to her pale features. She has stormed the fashion industry and runways with her exotic look!

8. Okay so I know that he is obviously not a female, but Nyle DiMarco's story is inspiring nonetheless. Being born completely deaf never stopped him from aiming for his dreams. In fact, Nyle won the most recent cycle of America's Next Top Model, and is sweeping away the competition once again on Dancing with the Stars. Go Nyle!

Stay flawsomely beautiful my friends!
