If there is anything that I've learned in my first year of college, it's that a girl has needs. There are just some things that women in college just cannot live without... Well, we probably could but we just don't want to.

1. Rain Boots

There is no way I would have been able to make the miserable trek across my campus without putting lacing up my favorite pair of duck boots, or good ol' rain boots. Wearing the wrong shoes during a rainy day on campus is terrible; stepping in a puddle and having to sit through a 2-hour psych lecture? No, thank you! I know it seems like your Converse are the only way you can tie up the loose ends of your outfit, but rain boots come in so many styles, prints, and colors so you can find exactly what you need here.

2. Fake Lashes

Even if you're not a self-proclaimed makeup guru like me, you can definitely rock some falsies! They make such a difference and they are much easier to apply than you think. They're inexpensive and only take about 5 minutes to apply. Not all of them look fake, and lashes are available in so many styles so there's no way you won't find something that suits your look! Take a glance at my favorite falsies! Above is a tutorial showing you just how easy they are to apply.

3. Amazon Prime Membership

One of the best things about being a college student is the discounts you get offered. With your school email, sign up for Amazon Prime as a student and receive 6 MONTHS FREE. Two-day free shipping on any item that you can think of! You can buy your books for class after your professor tells you that you'll need it and you'll have it by the next class day. This is a MUST have. Beware, it's kind of addicting; don't let yourself buy everything because shipping is free and Amazon is inexpensive.

4. Cardigans

Well, everyone needs a cardigan... Cardigans give us the freedom of wearing an old t-shirt and not feeling like a complete piece of trash. They give off the illusion that you may have to actually put effort into your appearance-- not to mention they're sooooo warm. Seriously, you can never have too many! Kohl's and Forever 21 have a wide variety to choose from!

5. An emergency credit card

Find a credit card that is geared toward college students because the minimum payments and interest rates tend to be lower. Discover it Chrome Student Cards are all the rage right now! This is really great in the case that you use all of your swipes for the week. If you have an interview and need a nice, new outfit for it. Give yourself guidelines to its use and don't carry it around with you or connect it to your Apple Wallet. I know 7/$27 seems like an emergency, but it’s not...

6. A travel mug

Coffee wherever you GOOOOOO. There's nothing more necessary than being able to take coffee to class. Buy one, you don't have a choice. That is all. Per usual, Target has nice ones here.

7. Baseball Hats

Okay, so, not the most fashionable accessory to exist but you'll love them when you're two days past your hair wash day and dry shampoo can't rescue you anymore. Plus, I've grown to love my ball caps and wear them even after a fresh wash.

8. Phone Pocket

Use your new Amazon Prime membership and swipe your shiny credit card because this is an EMERGENCY.... kidding. But, really, phone pockets are so awesome and you can put your student ID and debit card in the back of your phone. It makes it a lot easier because a wallet or lanyard is just one more thing to remember. Honey, say 'bye bye' to your purse because you don't need it anymore. Phone pockets are here to stay!

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
