October is National Pizza Month and in light of that I'd like to share with you the top 8 pizza joints in Grand Rapids, Michigan! Next time you're thinking about ordering pizza, try one of these local Grand Rapids spots before hitting up the closest chain restaurant to your home.
1. Carlucci's Pizza
Location: 890 Fuller Ave NE
Stop by Carlucci's Pizza and you'll find that this family owned business has all of the great pizza related meals available. Stromboli, traditional pizza's, specialty pizza's, and don't forget the breadstix!
2. Brick Road Pizza
Location: 1017 Wealthy St SE
You'll want to visit Brick Road Pizza especially if you need a vegan or gluten-free friendly menu. They've got gluten-free cheesy bread and a loaded potato pizza with tempeh bacon bits and vegan cheddar. Definitely worth the trip.
3. Harmony Brewing Company
Location: Harmony Eastown is located at 1551 Lake Dr. SE
What better mix than a craft brew and fresh pizza. You'll find a lot of new and exciting creations on their menu, like the Crispy Pig or the C-3PO. You'll just have to look them up or visit to see what all the fuss is about.
4. Pieology Pizzeria
Location: 2006 East Beltline Ave NE
Pieology is still slightly new, but you can have one of their creations or put together a creation of your own. Pick your crust, your sauce, your cheeses and meats, your veggies and let them cook it up fresh for you!
5. Vitale's
Location: 834 Leonard St NE or 3868 West River Dr. NE
I'm partial to the Leonard St NE location as that's closer to my place. Their menu is prime no matter what you're looking for, but obviously, you can't say no to the pizza!
6. Big O's Cafe
Location: 80 Ottawa Ave NW
Big O's is right downtown and they're not only known for their pizza but their awesomely large calzones. It's a small place, but a big atmosphere and not to mention if you make a night out of it, there's plenty of other things to do downtown after your pizza.
7. Carlos Pizza Connection 2
Location: 1813 Plainfield NE
They deliver, they have amazing Parmesan bites, and delicious pizza at a great price. If you're on the North East side of town, you'll definitely want to check them out.
8. Toppers Pizza
Location: 947 Wealthy St SE
Toppers is known for their interesting mixes of toppings, they also have Chocolate Baconstix (breadsticks). Who can say no to chocolate and bacon and breadsticks, let alone together?
