1. Castle Ruins Hike

Near Morrison Colorado, this hike is nestled on Mount Falcon. Up there you will find the remains of a castle that was built in the early 1900's by John Brisbane Walker and was originally three-stories tall. This structure was ruined after a lightning strike in 1918 and can only be found if you find the 2.3 mile hike on the Mount Falcon Trail.

2. Aircraft Crash Site Hike

Over the course of years there have been plane crashes across the state of Colorado and some are in places too remote that removal of all the debris is too difficult. A crash site that is relatively easy to find is the UH-1 Huey Helicopter crash site near Colorado Springs. In order to find it though, you have to head towards the northern side of the boulder field, this site is very remote and visitors should treat it with respect and leave no trace that they were there.

3. Dinosaur Tracks Hike

This hike is a hefty 10 mile round trip adventure. Located in southeastern Colorado's Picketwire Canyon, at the Purgatoire River Track site, there is a stretch of over 1,300 dinosaur tracks! Although you'll need to be in shape for this hike, it is well worth it.

4. Ghost Town Hike

One of the most iconic abandoned spots in Colorado is in the town of Crystal. Its most notorious structure is the Crystal Mill, but it is located after a 5.5 mile hike down a bumpy dirt road.

5. Hidden Cove Hike

Guffey Cove, also known as Paradise Cove, is a popular place for cliff jumpers and is just a short mile hike to get there. The area is surrounded by several cliffs and a beautiful canyon to explore.

6. Cliffside Hike

Telluride's Via Ferrata is for the thrill seekers who want to mix climbing with hiking. If you are brave enough to clip in and walk the footholds of the rock you can see a gorgeous view of the Bridal Veil Falls.

7. Otherwordly Landscape Hike

Hidden in the small town of Calhan, a walk around the Paint Mines Interpretive Park is one of the most unique hikes in the state.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
