Grey's Anatomy has been approved for season 15, and all I can think about is how many times Shonda is going to shatter my heart. But with the lows come the highs, and that's something to be thankful for. More than that, Grey's fans are in for more inspirational intro's, more quotable one-liners, and more monologues to relate to. For now, let's recap some of Meredith's most powerful quotes.
1. "When we follow our hearts; when we choose not to settle. It's funny, isn't it? A weight lifts. The sun shines a little brighter, and, for a brief moment at least, we find a little peace."
2. "I think you can't wait for someone to fly underneath you and save your life. I think you have to save yourself."
3. "At some point, you have to make a decision. Boundaries don't keep other people out. They fence you in. Life is messy; that's how we're made. So you can waste your lives drawing lines. Or you can live your life crossing them."
4. "It's one of those things that people say: you can't move on until you let go of the past. Letting go is the easy part. It's the moving on that's painful, so sometimes we fight it, sometimes we try and keep things the same. Things can't stay the same, though. At some point, you just have to let go. Move on. Because no matter how painful it is, it's the only way we grow."
5. "Love. Neuroscience tells us it activates the same parts of the brain as habit-forming addiction. It makes us feel like we can do anything, be anything, achieve anything, and once we taste it, we want more. The thing about love is, when it's good, it's so very good, and when it's bad, it hurts so much. And if you can't find a way to balance all those ups and downs, it will make you crazy."
6. "The ties that bind us are sometimes impossible to explain. They connect us even after it seems like the ties should be broken. Some bonds defy distance and time and logic because some ties are simply...meant to be."
7. "We all think we're going to be great. And we feel a little bit robbed when our expectations aren't met. But, sometimes, our expectations sells us short. Sometimes, the expected simply pales in comparison to the unexpected. The unexpected...is what changes our lives."
