7 Thoughts College Students Have After Spring Break

Spring break has become a national holiday for college students worldwide. It's basically a week long tease of your upcoming summer vacation, filled with ecxcessive debauchery. During spring break you don't have a worry in the world but when it ends, the post spring break depression is real.

It's safe to say we've all had or are having these thoughts right about now..

1. What even happened this week?

I'm sure we've all been thinking this for the past couple of days. Whether you went on a week long booze cruise or took a trip down to Key West, you probably have little to no memory on what exactly went down. Just a tip, check your Snapchat memories it might help.

2. Why am I still hungover?

Was it the excessive amounts of Fat Tuesdays or the unlimited drinking passes on the cruise? We may never know but it was worth it (I think). We all know spring break calls for over priced sugary drinks that leave you regretting your decisions in the morning. If you've been home for three days now and are still feeling hungover, you're not alone.

3. Where did all my money go?

This might be the greatest question of all. Your parents already want to kill you after having to pay for your extravagant vacation, but it doesn't stop there. We all know the struggle of paying mega bucks for a fancy yard stick that ends in a brain freeze and an Instagram pic. Not to mention all the money you blew at the casino. But it's spring break so its acceptable, right?

4. Why didn't I take enough pictures?

You might as well go in your camera roll and delete all the screen shots of pictures you "wanted" to take over break. An Instagram is necessary though to make it look like you actually had plans, so scrap up one of blurry group pics you took and hope for at least 100 likes.

5. Do my parents still like me?

You spent all their money and had them worried sick the entire time. I'm going to say the answer to that one is no.

6. Do I really have to go back to reality?

Now comes the time where you actually have to check your grades and pray you don't have a test the following week. If so, just go back to spring break mode and maybe it'll go away. Wishful thinking am I right?

7. When is summer?

You made it out alive so now you just have to start mentally preparing yourself for summer vacation. It's time to start "saving" your money and pretending like you're actually going to eat healthy and go to the gym in preparation for a summer bod. If summer is anything like spring break, prepare your liver and your wallet because its going to be intense.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
