Being an only child has its pros and cons. When it comes down to it, its hard to imagine life with a sibling. For me, being an only-child has affected who I am as a person, and it's difficult to analyze if I would have the same characteristics and personality traits if my parents had decided to have another kid. If you're an only child like me, you can probably relate to some of these feelings and scenarios.

1. People tell you how lucky you are to not have an annoying sibling

Sometimes you agree, especially when you see how irritating your friends siblings can be to them. You often think, 'thank goodness I don't have to deal with that'.

2. Or they pity you for not having that indescribable sibling connection

But for your friends who are close with their siblings, they tell you they're so sorry you can't experience that intense bond that you can only have with a sibling, and this makes you feel like you're missing out.

3. You got really good at talking to adults at an early age

Dinner parties were your time to shine, and because of the lack of other kids around, you had to make conversations with whoever was there, and they were probably adults.

4. You always felt a bit more independent than your peers

Because you were fine being on your own, it became so natural to be independent that you didn't mind when you had to be self-reliant; in fact, sometimes you preferred it.

5. And maybe more mature too

Because you spent so much time around adults, you tended to pick up more mature tendencies than the other kids around you.

6. You're close with your parents

You don't have a sibling to share things with, so you confide in your parents, and although you might fight with them more often, you also might feel a closer connection with them than your friends who have siblings.

7. And yes, you do usually like being the center of attention

It isn't always true about us only-children, but yes, usually we do like being the center of attention and thrive off of it. What can we say-- we're used to having parents who treated us like the one and only most important thing in their lives!

Whether you wish you had siblings or not, being an only child has made you who are today, so be proud of it!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
