Are you a Chattanooga Local? Visiting for the summer? A nanny and you have no idea what to do with the kids you're watching for 8 hours a day this summer? Well, look no further! Whether you were born and raised in good 'ole ChattVegas (okay... that may be a bit of an exaggeration) or you are visiting for the weekend, here is a list of some of the best things to do in Chattanooga!
1. Take a walk along the river and the famous walking bridge.
We aren't called the "Scenic City" for nothing!
2. Release your inner-child at Coolidge Park.
Between the water park, the 100-year-old carousel, and the donut and ice cream shops, Coolidge park is a great place to play, read, sleep, or just sit and enjoy!
3. Support local businesses at the Chattanooga Market!
Named one of the “Top 10 Public Markets in America” by Frommers, the Chattanooga Market is a great way to get out, listen to some great music, and support your local economy! It's located downtown at the First Tennessee Pavilion and is open on Sundays from 11-4.
4. Go to a Lookouts Baseball Game
Love baseball? Well, this is the perfect way to wind down after a long, warm summer day. Click here to see their upcoming schedule.
5. Hang out at Point Park
Sitting atop Lookout Mountain, Point Park is a pivotal site in Chattanooga's history and you can learn all about it! And if that's not enough to suit your fancy, from here you can hike to Sunset Rock and watch the sun set over the city. Come on, how awesome is that?!
6. Creative Discovery Museum
Babysitters, this one is for you! The CDM is a great escape for ages 0 up to about 12 (and of course the inner child). They have a two-story water play section, music rooms, arts and crafts, and a place to dig for dinosaurs! Rawr! You can find out some more information here :)
7. Go see the Penguins at the Aquarium!
So what are you waiting for? Come on down and get your fun on in Chattanooga!
