I am sure I can speak for most people when I say that life is stressful. But if it wasn't, we wouldn't appreciate the good times nearly as much. Now I can pretty much say, that I look up things to watch/do when I am stressed that soothes me. From yoga to cutting sand videos, here's my "List of things that I have found to be unconventionally soothing."
1. Yoga!
I have been practicing the art of yoga since I was probably 7 or 8. It's a calming thing, and most studies have shown that doing yoga not only decreases blood pressure but also creates a feeling of relaxation in the body. Give it a try!
2. Crafting
Look, my house is covered in things I have made, or helped to make. From painting to little mini-dioramas, I find crafting to be one of the most satisfying things to do with my slim spare time.
3. Looking at museums
Because there's nothing better than seeing what your local art museum has going on, or what your natural history museum has to offer right?
4. Watch Sand Cutting videos
This I just started getting into recently. I find them so satisfying to watch. From the perfectly molded sand to the knife deftly slicing the sand in perfect lines. It's very calming.
5. Watch Wood Whittling Videos.
When the craftsman (or woman) starts taking the wood and shaping it into what will be a table leg or a lamp, I find that deeply relaxing and satisfying
6. Water videos
For some reason these are also very relaxing for me. But maybe that's because I have been around water all my life.
7. Sand Squishing videos
Ahhhh these look so fun. And actually they are. I have this kinetic sand at home but for some reason it's very satisfying to watch someone else's fall apart..
