7 Reasons You'll Miss Liberty During Christmas Break

Christmas break sounds so good at this point of life, but it’s sad to be away from Liberty for a month. Going to Liberty University has changed me in many ways and one of them is getting used to the Christian environment and all that it entails. To make sure I cover everything that not only I am going to miss, but also everyone else that goes here, I asked some of my LU friends what specifically they were going to miss of Liberty. Here are their responses:

1. The people

I got this answer most of the time, and it’s not a surprise at all. People here in Liberty are so kind and welcoming! You get a smile back from everybody! If you want, you can make a new friend every day.

2. Being able to talk about Jesus with anyone and everyone

Liberty is like a family. Wherever you turn to, there’s a brother or a sister that is willing to support and listen to you. Everyone is authentic and there’s no need to be superficial.

3. Convo and Worship

Going to Convo three times a week and worship God with your friends is something that definitely I am going to miss.

4. My hall

There’s nothing like going out to the hall and bumping into friends and hanging out with them. I specially love late-night conversations with my hall girls and having a lot of them over in my room. There’s no need to worry about how you look or what you’re wearing!

5. Going anywhere on campus and seeing someone you know

After a couple of weeks of classes and making friends, you literally start to see someone you know to almost everywhere you go. Everybody is connected to each other in some way. Soon you realize that you have mutual friends with everybody on campus.

6. Support and prayer in class from teachers

It is always refreshing to see your professor taking your prayer requests and praying for them and for the class. It's always encouraging to start every single class that way.

7. Seeing people around you that are seeking and chasing after God

This is something that the world needs today. It's rare, but it's something that we get to experience every day at Liberty.

Obviously, going home for Christmas is going to be great. But I can't wait to come back for spring semester and see my Liberty family again!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
