Hopefully, everyone is well rested after Thanksgiving break! Going to school from Labor Day to Thanksgiving without one single break is exhausting and can eventually take a toll on students. It honestly isn’t a super long time and doesn’t sound that bad until you factor in the tests, quizzes, papers and research projects that happen week after week. Now that Thanksgiving is over, we have to prepare to go back to the busy school days and start our countdown to Christmas break. Hopefully, these next 3 weeks of school aren’t so draining, but if they are, and you happen to fall into any of these categories, chances are you're an exhausted college student!

1. You are always in 1 of 2 moods.

A) starving because you never have time to sit down and eat or B) completely stuffed because you are probably so stressed that you can’t stomach any food.

2. You have to choose between setting several extremely loud alarms to wake up from your deep sleep (AKA that 20 minute nap), or you have to risk not taking a nap at all.

We all know that everyone hits a certain point in their day where there is no waking them until they have slept for at least 8 hours regardless of whether it is 2 pm or 2 am.

3. Speaking of sleep, your bed is your favorite place.

There is nothing better than coming home and falling into your bed after being out of your room for more than 12 hours.

4. You've been sick for more than 3 weeks.

The common cold usually lasts around 1-2 weeks, but it can last longer than that if you don’t take care of you're body (i.e. you don’t get enough sleep, aren't eating the right foods, and aren't drinking enough water).

5. Coffee no longer has an impact on you.

This one is rather unfortunate, because, at one time, you thrived on coffee. Now, you drink it in the hopes that some sort of magic will happen and that you will be gifted with energy.

6. You have a countdown set for every. single. break.

Heck, you might even have a countdown set for the weekend. This semester, Thanksgiving and Christmas were the big ones, but next semester, you have spring break and summer to look forwards to.

7. You used to look ahead and try to plan everything at least one week in advance, but now you take it day by day.

This one is pretty self-explanatory.

Only 2 or 3 weeks until Christmas break! These next few weeks may be equally as exhausting as the the semester has been up until this point, but there is a 3 week break to look forwards to. If you were struggling this semester, you have the opportunity to rest up and start fresh in January!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
