7 Signs You're From A Small Town
Courtney James

Living in a small town never really phased me before college. I knew everyone in my school and their parents since Elementary days. The ideal spot for high school parties is either out in the woods or in a field somewhere. Living in such a small place was never a real problem for me.

1. Highschool parties were generally in the woods and/or farm fields.

It's strange and someone will probably get a tick or two stuck on them but you made do with the environment. Ours was a cow named Buddy. He also lived with a few sheep

2. Walking to pet the nearest livestock.

3. Running around fields.

Because sometimes running on the street gets boring.

4. Showing up to school late because you were stuck behind farm equipment.

And then not getting in trouble when you walk in the door.

5. Sharing stories with college friends and realizing how differently you grew up.

I guess not everyone drives a John Deere around their tree farms when they were little.

6. You know your entire graduating class

And their whole family.

7. Absolutely no one knows where you’re from.

So you have to use the closest city on the map. Which is even still close to an hour away.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
