7 Reasons Why Grey's Anatomy Is a Total Classic

I love Grey’s Anatomy.

I used to watch this surgical drama from time to time on TV, but I recently started binge-watching the whole series, and I am completely addicted. Are you? This is why I think you should be.

1. It will help fill the romantic void that is your life.

I had a completely typical conversation with my friend the other day. She was telling me about her life and she concluded, "boys suck, so I bought the last season of Grey's Anatomy instead." And I was all like "duuuude I'm binge-watching Grey's toooo, twiiiinsies!" But seriously, in my state of painful singledom, the show's mushy ridiculousness is really bridging some gaps.

2. It has ALL of the feels.

You’ll never be bored watching Grey’s. Sickness, death, death scares, adultery, treason, depression, insanity...it has it all, and it will keep you on your toes. But the script is also really clever and funny!

3. It's beautifully inclusive.

Among both the staff of Seattle Grace Hospital and the patients, every group is represented. There are people of virtually all ethnicities, beliefs, sexual orientations and backgrounds, plus a real effort from all the characters to tolerate and understand one another. And if that makes Grey's too PC, at least it makes it just the right amount of human.

4. And everyone is beautiful.

Watching this show means serious eye candy. Almost every character is strikingly aesthetic - guys, girls, whatever floats your boat. Among the original set of characters, one was a model (Izzie) and one was casually referred to as “Dr. McDreamy” (Derek), after all. Oh, and people keep crushing on Meredith, too.

5. Character development is prime.

Although Grey’s Anatomy can get so cheesy it makes you cringe, all the characters are actually super realistic. Some of the surgeons are sensitive and caring, while some are sarcastic smartasses and others have serious commitment issues. Even the patients’ personalities are well developed, in the space of just one episode. And everyone is just a little bit strange - just like in real life!

6. The soundtrack is baller.

I have found so many of my favorite songs on this show - from Tegan and Sara to Thirteen Senses, and from Keane to Sia. Find a complete list of this genius soundtrack here. http://www.tunefind.com/show/greys-anatomy/season-...

7. 10 seasons and still going strong.

Grey’s Anatomy has been running for 10 seasons of roughly 20 episodes, each 40 minutes long, and season 11 is programmed for the fall! That, my friends, is what you call success. It’s just that good.

I usually only watch sitcoms, so for me to take the time to praise a drama is pretty noteworthy. I hope I convinced you to give Grey’s Anatomy a try - believe me, it won’t disappoint. Happy viewing!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
