There are many different types of people in the world. Those who only care about themselves, those who only care about a select few, and those who care about everyone. We call the latter "kindhearted" people. These people are kind to everyone and are always looking for the best in people. Being this kind of person can be both a blessing and a curse.
1. You Always Try To Help Or Say Yes
Whether it really effects you or not, you are always trying to help people with even the simplest of things. Then when you cannot fix it or you have to bow out, you have guilt (See number 4).
2. You Always Try To Be Positive
Kindhearted people always try to look on the bright side and look to the positive side of things. It frustrates us when people are constantly criticizing others or being negative.
3. You Always Give People The Benefit Of The Doubt
Even when you shouldn't...and you know it.
4. The Guilt
Even when you are stretched as thin as you can possibly be, you have guilt if you even think of saying no to someone.
4. People Take Advantage Of You
After awhile, people catch onto the fact you are a kindhearted person and whether they do it intentionally or subconsciously, they start taking advantage of you. Usually it starts off with, "can you...?" and all of the sudden, you are being asked over and over.
5. You Always Listen
Sometimes people just need to talk and they know you will always listen. The downside to this is that you don't often feel as though you have anyone to talk to when you need to. You never want to feel like a burden.
6. You Get Hurt Easier
The thing that hurts most is when people are not kind to you or others. You cannot understand how people can be so heartless. You cannot understand why people cannot be kind and it hurts your heart.
7. You Never Regret Being Kind
You might say you do. But you don't. You might say this is the last time. But it's not.
Being kindhearted is a trait that not many possess and should be considered a gift. In a world that is quickly moving towards the "me, myself, and I" attitude, be the kindhearted light in the darkness. When you are being used, remember it is ok to say no. Allow yourself to feel guilty for a moment, but then move past it and find someone else to show your kindness to.
You can still have a beautiful heart and take care of yourself. You cannot save everyone, and not everyone deserves your kindness.
