It seems to be becoming a new thing where on November 1st, it's Christmas time. Everywhere else in the world this applies, but honestly, in the U.S., Thanksgiving is the most underrated holiday. Some people will say the opposite but here are a few reasons why you shouldn't skip over Thanksgiving.
1. Food is BAE
I mean COME ON you have so many options to eat. My favorites have to be creamed corn, sweet potato casserole, and mac-and-cheese.
2. Who doesn't love stuffing?
No explanation needed. It's just so good.
3. Football
Whether you like football or not, it's a nice thing to have on the TV while you're talking all day to your family. Vikings play the Lions, Cowboys play the Chargers, Giants play the Redskins, but MOST IMPORTANTLY Mississippi State plays Ole Miss. GTHOM.
4. Thanksgiving Day Parade?!?
The ultimate tradition. Who doesn't love watching Charlie Brown and the Pillsbury Doughboy go down the streets of New York.
5. Quality Family Time
Thanksgiving is all about being with family. Even though you have those annoying conversations about how college is, if you have a boyfriend, and what you want to do with your life, it all makes it the holiday it is. You make memories that will last a lifetime with the people you love the most.
6. Black Friday
Because who doesn't love all the good deals?
7. Giving Thanks!
Even though the holiday is about the pilgrims coming to America and basically stealing land, my family (and I'm sure many others) really do give thanks for what we are given. Every year my grandfather says a 10 minute long prayer listing everything he is thankful for. It's a little insane, but it's the thought that makes this holiday one of the best.
