It seemed like everyone I know was telling me to watch Shameless. I went ahead and tried it out, and I fell in love instantly. I binged all six seasons in a month on Netflix, and now new episodes of season 7 are out on Showtime. This might be my favorite show of all time, and I definitely think it's the best show on TV right now. Here's why:
1. It addresses real life issues.
The Gallagers live on the south side of Chicago, and it's hard to live surrounded by crime and try to make ends meet. They don't just address crime and money issues, but addiction and mental health issues, too.
2. Lip.
He is smart, funny, and gorgeous. Just being able to see him is enough to watch the show.
3. It's entertaining.
Each episode has crazy antics and schemes. It's not just hilarious, but dramatic too. You keep wishing things will get better for the Gallagers.
4. Ian + Mickey's relationship.
I think anyone who watches Shameless loves Ian and Micky together and wants so badly for their relationship to work out.
5. It's honest.
The situations that the characters are in are honest. All of the awkward or taboo things actually happen, without beating around the bush.
6. The actors are underrated.
The actors aren't big-name actors, and aren't well known so there's so much new talent and new faces that you'll grow to love. And they are SO good.
7. There's sevens seasons.
Season seven is premiering now! So you'll have a lot of episodes to watch before you finish.
