Alas, the month of October has finally come to end, and it's time to embrace one of my personal favorite months: November. While many Millennials have currently been obsessed with the past month, it's time to move on to colder and cozier times. The eleventh month brings us all kinds of amazing things that people overlook until Thanksgiving rolls around. I would like to take some time to remind all of you that this month is important and exciting from the very first day. Here are some reasons to embrace November with open arms:
The fall semester is more than halfway over. At last, you have officially made it over the "hump."
If your midterms are complete like they are here at Bryant, then congratulations, you have survived one of the worst weeks of the semester. Consider yourself sort-of-stress-free until you have to start thinking about finals. Let the home stretch to Thanksgiving and winter breaks begin!
Time to get your last "pumpkin spice everything" fix in before peppermint season begins.
Not going to lie, as much as I love anything pumpkin, the whole craze is getting a bit tiresome. Make sure you get your favorite pumpkin muffin and pumpkin spice latte before they stop making them for the season (tears).
Enjoy the final days of the crisp, fall weather before we all become buried in three feet of snow.
Lets face it. Several news sources have said that we're supposed to be getting just as much snow, if not more, than last winter. With that being said, enjoy every last day up until those dreaded snowstorms begin raining on everyone's parade.
You can now begin (if you haven't already started) wearing comfy sweaters and fuzzy socks while cozying up by a roaring fire, drinking hot cocoa with tiny marshmallows, and binge-watching your favorite show on Netflix, without any guilt.
No explanation needed. You now have new reasons to procrastinate on your work!
Veteran's Day.
Sometimes it can be easy to forget the real reason why we all get to live freely each and every day. American people, just like you and me, put their lives in danger just to ensure that we all get to live the way that we do. If you know someone who has served or is currently serving in the U.S. Army, make sure you thank them on November 11, and on any given day, really.
Thanksgiving (the best holiday ever) is near, which means that the holiday season we have all been anxiously awaiting is finally in our grasp.
Thanksgiving: the one day a year where it's perfectly acceptable to stuff your face as much as you damn well please. This also kicks off the holiday season, "the most wonderful time of the year."
It is a month to be thankful for what you have, who you are, and the amazing people that make your life extraordinary each and every day, whether you're aware of it or not.
As Ferris Bueller once said, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once and a while, you could miss it." We all get caught up in the craziness of life, but it is so important to take a step back and be appreciative for all that you are and all that you have. It's also the perfect time of year to thank the people in your life who stick by you through it all. Let those people know how thankful you are to have them in your life.
