7 Reasons Why Chipotle Is Overrated

7 Reasons Why Chipotle Is Overrated

To all the people that I am sure will be offended by this article, I'm sorry that I'm not sorry. I believe Chipotle is overrated. There, I said it. Sue me for all I care, as long as I never have to set foot in a Chipotle ever again. I consider myself to be basic, but Chipotle is one of the few things on the basic train that I just cannot get behind, and here is why.

1. The Chips Are Not Free

Yes, I get that their chips can actually taste quite good with the hint of lime flavor, but why in the world would I want to pay extra for chips? Isn't the whole point of Tex-Mex to get free chips? (Point to Moe's for having free chips.)

2. They Made Burrito Bowls Popular


Why? Again, if I am getting Tex-Mex, there better be chips or a tortilla. The best part of a burrito is the tortilla. Why not call it a Tex-Mex bowl, a nacho-less bowl or a taco-less bowl because if it is definitely not a burrito in a bowl. (Point to Moe's for giving free chips with the burrito bowls so you can make it into nachos.)

3. The Rice Has Cilantro

A ton of people hate cilantro, so why include it in the rice? I get you can ask for rice without it, but honestly that seems annoying. I would probably get made fun of and the workers would spit in my food. (Point to Moe's for being reasonable humans and realizing you can add cilantro but cannot take it out.)

4. The Toppings Are Weak

There are slim picking for Chipotle toppings. For example, I love tomatoes, but if I want tomatoes at Chipotle then I have to get it in a mixture that includes cilantro. (Point to Moe's for having tomatoes by themselves as God intended.)

5. There Is No Salsa Bar

To quote Donald Trump, "Wrong." (Point to Moe's for understanding what the people want, which is a free salsa bar.)

6. They Don't Have Queso

Why do you have so much hate in your heart Chipotle? To quote my friend Danny, "Who hurt you?" (Point to Moe's for having an abundance of love and queso.)

7. The Food Is Not That Great

The food does not even taste that great to begin with. (Point to Moe's for having yummy food.)


To sum things up Moe's - 7 Chipotle - 0.
