7 Places to Visit in France

Many people dream of going to France one day, but few know of the places to visit once they arrive there. I got to visit France a year ago and I visited the typical tourist attractions, but I also visited some places that get very little recognition.

1. Notre Dame Cathedral

Home of the popular story The Hunchback of Notre Dame, this beautiful church is iconic and worth the visit. Location: Paris, France.

2. Montmarte Cathedral

I would argue that this is the most spectacular cathedral in all of Paris. It's on a small mountain and right beside it is a beautiful mountain town. It's perfect for those who can't agree on what to do for the day. There are restaurants, shops, street art (for those who enjoy that), and sights to see. I highly recommend visiting Montmarte.

3. The Eiffel Tower

An obvious place to visit while in France is the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It's a beautiful work of art and every tourist should go to the top of it.

4. Paris Zoo and Gardens

Those with kids may enjoy the Paris Zoo and parents can equally enjoy the gardens. This is an absolutely stunning area and it provides a sense of home in such a foreign area.

5. Pont du Gard

Located in St. Remy, this beautiful area is great for the nature lover who doesn't want an exhausting excursion.

6. Moustiers St. Marie

This is a town in France that is absolutely stunning. It's like walking into a fairy tale. There are so many natural beauties around every turn, there are ancient churches that are stunning beyond belief, and the towns are very quaint and adorable. This is by far my favorite place I visited.

7. Gorges du Verdon

This is the "Grand Canyon of France." The Gorges du Verdon is a must-see in Moustiers St. Marie. Go kayaking through it or go horseback riding around it and marvel at the waterfalls, bright blue waters, and mountain terrain. It's well worth the trip.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
