7 Lessons Gilmore Girls Taught Me
The Hollywood Reporter

This family favorite, heart warming show, is chocked full of life lessons. Here are 7 things that really hit home with me when I rewatched Gilmore Girls!

1. Your worst enemies can be your best friend

Like Rory and Paris, sometimes your worst enemy can end up being your best friend. Just because you don't get along at first, doesn't mean you won't grow to love each other. Rory and Paris were constantly at each others throats, but they also always there for each other when they needed it most.

2. It's okay to not have a plan

Rory didn't have every second of her life planned out, and even the things she did have planned out didn't stick. It's okay to not have a your every moment planned, things work out the way they're suppose to. Even the things you do have planned, might change. If that happens, just go with the flow. Everything works out the way it's suppose to in the end.

3. Don't be afraid to say no

Rory didn't say yes when Logan asked her to marry him, despite everyone expecting her to. Rory did what was right for at the time. She loved being with him, but knew she had a lot of life left to live, lessons to learn, and options to explore. Don't say yes to every opportunity that's given to you, take time to think it over, and always remember there are other options out there. Do what's right for you.

4. Everyone has bad days

Even the ever so "perfect" Mrs.Gilmore has bad days. It's okay to go a little insane sometimes, and it's okay to need help on those days, don't be afraid to ask for it! Even if you have to give a little extra push, and threaten them with a passenger side trip to crazy town.

5. It's okay to need your parents

The ever so independent and strong Rory, needed Lorelai after going away to college. There's nothing wrong with needing your parents every once in awhile, as a matter of fact I'm sure they'll appreciate it. It's also okay to be a mama's/dad's girl/boy, even when you're an adult.

6. Don't let others get you down

People aren't always going to approve of your choices, similar to Emily not always approving of Lorelai's choices. Don't let that get you down! Keep going, and follow through with your dreams.

7. Take chances

Don't be afraid of taking risks! Live a little. Rory was afraid of the Life and Death Brigade's adventure and wasn't so sure about participating in jumping off the wall with Logan, but she did. You never know how one little adventure, can change your whole life. Take a chance!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
