Ah laziness, some mistake this as being a personality trait but it’s not. Instead being lazy is a habit, one that was formed over many years and many times telling my mom I was “to busy doing homework” to take out my dog.
Any excuse ever used to get out of doing something; you can bet your life that I have used it. However, it becomes ironic, for being the lazy piece of sh*t that I am, I am seemingly ambitious and I’m not sure why.
The other day I was talking to one of my friends and this is what she said,
I laughed. Not because she’s wrong, but because this wasn’t the first time someone has told me this. To be lazy but ambitious is both a blessing and a curse.
1. You wake up some days ready to do it all, you want to try new things, explore, and other days you only leave your bed to get food.
You’ll wake up and immediately know. “Nope, not today my bed needs me.” And other days you will wake up feelin’ 110 percent. “Yes let’s go start a new club at school, let’s got to a new coffee place, who needs naps!!!”
2. You are only ambitious about the things you are passionate about.
Why do you think I’m writing this right now? I have two tests I could be studying for but instead; I’m sitting on my couch preaching to the Internet about being lazy and ambitious. When you like to do something, you’ll do it. It’s that simple.
3. You either go on a cleaning rampage or you don’t do laundry for weeks.
There is no happy medium. You’re either vacuuming every room in your house or hiding while your family asks you to clean up when you’re home.
4. You take on all types of responsibilities.
People are usually surprised when the person they know (you) who can’t even get up to get themselves a glass of water is going to meetings every other day and doing things that require leaving the house.
5. You’ve become very good about doing things efficiently.
If you’re going to do something, you’re going to do it once and as fast as humanly possible.Why waste time? This is time you could spend sleeping or idk eating?
6. You’ve wished on multiple occasions that every place delivered.
...Or that you were Matilda and could move things with your mind (dreams). Why leave the house when someone can bring what you want to you???
7. You’ve spent a good amount of time thinking about something you could invent that would make you wealthy.
Because a wise person once said, “The laziest people come up with the best inventions.” Think about it, Siri, Xbox voice controls, even cars. Except you give up after five minutes because you realize you’re thinking too much.
To look at a lazy person’s resume you will always be surprised. Because although to you this person wouldn’t move if their life depended on it, they are more ambitious than you think.
