7 Funny Shows You Can Binge In College
Den Of Geek

Long gone are the days of summer where you could stay inside on beautiful, sunshine filled days just to lounge around and binge watch Netflix on your couch. Now that we’ve all returned to school and are generally struggling on a regular basis, binge watching shows becomes a sacred time. A scheduled meeting, if you will, or a catch-up meal with an old friend. With available windows so few and far between, it can be overwhelming to watch five episodes of a show, only to not be able to return to it for a week.

That’s what this list is intended to resolve. Here are seven shows that are primed for the casual binging college student. They’re shows you’ve seen before, you’ve been meaning to watch, and maybe one or two that you didn’t think you would like but are now obsessed with. Most importantly though, they’re the shows that will provide for you everything you need in a good binge watch (or rewatch) (or third time through).

1. "It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia"

When you need to laugh and also feel better about yourself, this show is the move. 11 seasons of the most politically incorrect jokes for the five worst people you'll ever meet. The best part of this show is that almost all of the episodes are self-contained so you can watch in order or jump around. Perfect for that stop and go viewing experience!

2. "That 70’s Show"

This show is perfect for when you're delirious after a long week and just need something silly to make you laugh. I have never watched it religiously, yet I feel like I've seen every episode. With 8 seasons, all approximately 25 episodes long, you'll have to spend some quality binge time to finish this show.

3. "New Girl"

If someone hasn't seen "New Girl", I end all communications then. This show is a gift to us all. It's like "Friends" for Millennials (who have all watched "Friends" in its entirety). It's a comedy inspired by the life we want to live: an apartment full of friends who go on wild adventures that result in charmingly comical stories but ultimately teach us all lessons of life. Very casual viewing.

4. "Friends"

The classic. I refer to "Friends" as my palate cleanser TV show: I always go back to it in between shows when I need something good that I know will always make me laugh. After watching it through so many times, I know what my favorite episodes are so when I have just 2 hours to kill, I don't have to stress over what to watch.

5. "Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23"

I recently returned to this show to find its even funnier than I remembered. The jokes are so witty and the comedic timing is perfect. It's such a short show (R.I.P. canceled too soon), which makes it perfect for a casual binge.

6. "Arrested Development"

The most casual of all casual binge shows. You can binge hours of this show and never get bored. Your eyes might get a little glossed over, but that's the price we pay for good TV.

7. "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"

My friends have responded with mixed reviews about this show, but I personally think it's one of the funniest comedies I've ever seen. With only 3 seasons, this one can be binged quickly, but it's so perfect. Maybe it's because I'm a Tina Fey fan ride or die. Maybe it's because the jokes are so wicked smart that I pee my pants laughing. Maybe it's because I've genuinely been told that Titus Andromedon is my spirit animal. Regardless, I highly recommend "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" for your next binge.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
