7 Fall Festivities To Do In Philly From Now Through November
About Travel

With Halloween weekend approaching—we finally jump into the peak of fall. Although it feels like all the colorful leaves, apple ciders and pumpkin spices are meant for the month of October, the best part of fall actually starts this week and lasts throughout November. With Philly experiencing an Indian summer this fall, the seasonal spirit hasn’t quite hit us yet. But from this week on, the temperature has finally dropped, it’s getting spooky outside and there’s a bunch of fun fall festivals and events to attend. Just when you feel like you missed Oktoberfest and other awesome fall events, here are a few fall festivities to do from now through November:

1. The Philadelphia Whiskey and Fine Spirits Festival

Oct. 27, 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
I don’t know about you, but whiskey seems to taste a little bit better to me when it’s cold outside. And now that fall weather is finally here, you can drink all the warm whiskey you want in Center City this Thursday night! Hosted by Philadelphia Magazine, the event will take place at 801 Market Street and will showcase over 200 premium spirits from around the world. The tickets are a bit pricey, but if you love top-shelf alcohol and can drink a lot of it—it’s worth the money! Guests can sample liquors ranging from, whiskey, scotch and bourbon to gin, rum, vodka and more. There will also be chances to talk to master distillers and eat food from some of Philly’s best-voted restaurants. And if you feel bad about potentially getting plastered, just know that proceeds from the event will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society—so at least it’s for a good cause! Buy tickets here.

2. South Street Pumpkin Fest

Oct. 29, 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
Anyone who loves Philly absolutely loves South Street—so what better way to celebrate Halloween weekend than to go there to trick or treat and decorate pumpkins on a Saturday afternoon? As a long-time tradition, South Street Headhouse District holds a day-full of fall festivities at the Historic Headhouse Shambles between Pine and Lombard Streets. The Philadelphia School of Circus Arts will be performing live circus acts, tricks and aerial shows throughout the day along with live music, games, costume contests, late-night movies, horse and wagon hayrides and much more. Find out more.

3. Fall Festival and Spooky Saturday in East Passyunk

Oct. 29, 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Just like South Street, East Passyunk is another one of Philly's beloved gems. Held right in the heart of South Philly at the Singing Fountain along Tasker and Passyunk on the strip, a day-full of fall-themed activities will be going down for people of all ages, as well as pets too! Throughout the day there will be live music, arts and crafts, outdoor food and drinks from Stogie Joes, Pub on Passyunk East, Mamma Maria Ristorante and Weckerly’s and a craft show with artwork, clothing and crafts from local artists. Find out more about this FREE event here.

4. Ghosts of the Great Road

Oct. 29, 1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
If you’re into spooky ghost tours in historically haunted neighborhoods, this is for you! The Mt. Airy Learning Tree and Historic Germantown present an interactive ghost walk and live paranormal investigation of one of Philly’s most historic neighborhoods. With two starting points, Germantown Historical Society and Upsala, the tour guides ply the role of a historical character while telling “eerie tales” at different haunted locations. The event is held rain or shine and seems pretty intense—so try it out if you dare. Read more.

5. The Devil's Crawl in Center City
