'Cruise' by Florida Georgia Line

Alright, this was THE song of summer 2012 and continues to be a summertime favorite as you put on your sunglasses, hop in the car, and cruise along with the windows down on a warm summer day. Every time I hear this song, I think of summer!

'Sweet Caroline' by Neil Diamond

This song reminds me a many settings as it is a traditional song played at Penn State football games. It's a fan favorite sing-along that pretty much everyone knows. At the beach resort that my family and I usually go to, this song is always played. It always puts me in a feel-good, relaxed kinda mood!

'Margaritaville' by Jimmy Buffet

A classic beach song especially if you go down south to a beach. My family and I go to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina every summer where there is a Margaritaville so we play this song on repeat for the whole vacation.

'It's Five O'Clock Somewhere' by Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffet

This one goes right along with Margaritaville as this song is played throughout vacation with my family quite a bit too. The idea it always being five o'clock somewhere makes me think of time coming to a stop on vacation. On vacation, we are not in a rush to get anywhere because it is all about taking time to relax and not be on a time schedule.

'Kokomo' by The Beach Boys

Going to the beach? Then, The Beach Boys seem like a fitting artist to listen to. Whenever going on vacation, I always try to find music that my whole family can vibe to and this just happens to be one of them as my mom and dad enjoy it. I know, it's a little old, but once again, it's a classic!

'This is How We Roll' by Florida Georgia Line

And another Florida Georgia Line song! Honestly, all Florida Georgia Line music gets me in the summer mood. I think country music in general is great for the summer time as I have gotten more and more into country especially over the last year thanks to my friends. This song is just another one of those kick back, feel good, hanging out with friends and having a good time kinda song.

'Vacation' by The Go-Go's

Obviously this song is a must for a vacation because it is literally titled 'Vacation'. This 80's summer hit talks about the excitement of getting away by going on vacation while tying in a summer love fling. The energy in this song makes it a peppy, upbeat song that is perfect for a summer vacay playlist!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
