College is stressful--we all know that. In the midst of all the craziness, the greatest comfort comes to us through the words of our loving Father. Here are seven Bible verses to get us through some of the challenges we may face during our time here at college.
1. When you're overwhelmed by stress:
Philippians 4:6-7- "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
2. When you're feeling lonely, left out and unloved:
Deuteronomy 31:6- "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you."
3. When the future is unclear:
Jeremiah 29:11- "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
4. When you feel tired and burnt out:
Isaiah 40:31- "But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."
5. When temptation is hard to fight:
1 Corinthians 10:13- "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
6. When hard times hit:
2 Corinthians 4:17-18- "For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen."
7. When you feel insecure:
1 Peter 3:3-4- "Do not let your adorning be external--the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear--but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious."
