Who knew this would be so difficult, am I right?

This summer has been a wild ride. A lot of things have changed in my life. Some minor and some very major. And through this whole roller coaster that has been the last eight weeks, I've learned a few things that I would like to share.

Sometimes You Have To Suck It Up

This summer I had to do things I didn't want to do. But I did them because I knew it would benefit me. Example, I dropped a class with a professor I really love so that I could work more. And I'm still mad about it, but I did it anyway.

People Will Let You Down

Now I knew this, but it still stinks. And the worst part is picking yourself up from that disappointment and moving on. Which leads to my next lesson….

Let Go of Anger

Just pull as Elsa and let it go. There's no point in being angry for days. It's not a good feeling and then you're in a bad mood and you can't stop thinking about it. There's just no point in holding on to it. Be angry at the moment and then let it go.

Always Have a Back-Up Plan

Always, always, always have a backup plan. You don't even have to work on the plan, just have one. Because on the off chance that something doesn't work or something falls through, you won't be lost and stressed about what to do next. Because you have…..a backup plan!

You Have to Learn What You Hate

t's the only way to figure out what you love. And maybe you'll get lucky and find the love first. But for me, I had to go through a work experience that was not the best for me to realize what I actually want from a job.

Get It Done

Whatever it is, get it done. Because then it's over. No more worries, no more thoughts about it, no more scheduling time for it. Whatever it is, it'll be done.

People Who Care, Will Show Up

Whether it's in person, over the phone, texting you puppy pictures. People who are there for you will find some way to let you know. Those are the people you should have in your life and they will prove it to you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
