The cold weather is finally setting in for good, and I don't know about you, but I love it! I don't like to actually be cold though, I like to be cozy when it's cold outside. In fact, I like it so much that I've become a pro at it, so here are some of my tips for staying warm this winter season.

1. Hot drinks, hot drinks, hot drinks.

My roommate and I love tea, as you can tell from the picture. Hot cocoa, coffee, and apple cider will also work extremely well of course, depending on your preferences. Nothing is as nice as a hot drink on a cold fall or winter day, and it’ll warm your hands up as well!

2. Don’t be ashamed to look cozy.

As soon as the temperature drops below 50 degrees, I like to start wearing at least two long sleeved layers. I’m fully aware that this makes me look like I’ve gained a few pounds, but I’d really rather be warm!

3. Find yourself someone who is committed to coziness.

My significant other and I both enjoy being warm on cold days, so we plan cozy dates and when we brave the cold, we layer up and make sure to fully appreciate each other’s warm snuggly style! Having someone (even a four legged, furry someone) that really cares about you will keep you warm from your heart to your toes.

4. Or you could take a page out of these meerkats’ book...

and snuggle up with a bunch of friends! (There are about 5 or 6 of them in this cuddle pile, and doesn’t it look cozy?!)

5. Make sure your windows are sealed up well.

This is a highly practical way to go, and it will help you save on utilities as well. My roommate and I put in a work order to have our windows sealed and it turned out that our bedrooms were about 2 whole degrees cooler than the living area because the sealing on our windows was so old and worn!

6. Knitted accessories are absolutely your best friend in the wintertime.

Investing in a good pair of socks as well as a hat and gloves will help keep your entire body warm when you do inevitably have to venture outside in the cold weather.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
