As a kid, morning cartoon shows were the only thing that got me up and ready to start my day. When I see new shows coming out for the children of this new generation, it is outrageous to me how different they are compared to the cartoon shows I watched in my youth. But it is also funny how different the interpretation of the show is from when you were young to watching it now as an adult. Growing up in the 90's, Cartoon Network had the classics that bring us all together. Besides the epitome of Cartoon Network, ("Scooby-Doo," "Tom and Jerry," "The Looney Tunes," etc.), there are many other shows that I grew up watching that not many people remember until I bring them up. And the nostalgia hits hard when you watch the intros on YouTube.

"Courage the Cowardly Dog"

This show is the weirdest of weird. This purple dog and his farmer owners got into the most ridiculous situations. I don't know how I watched this as a kid, because honestly, it was kind of scary. Strange and paranormal events would attack the farmers and Courage would have to defend and save them.

"Codename: Kids Next Door"

"Either you're in or you're old." The fact that they each had their own number (Numbah 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) as a name was so cool. And even though their problems were outrageous, they were strangely relatable as well. I lived vicariously through this group. For those who haven't seen it, it was about a group of kids who did what they wanted and didn't let adults restrict them. Awesome, I know.

"Static Shock"

Looking back at it, I did not realize how Virgil Hawkins really became a superhero. It is the classic story of a young kid who got into the wrong crowd. Apparently, he joined a gang. The police released tear gas to stop one of their shenanigans and ended up releasing a lot of chemicals that gave him his ability to manipulate electricity. He then used his superpowers to fight the villains of the city.

"Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy"

This show was actually one of my favorites, which kind of scares me. As weird as it was addicting, this show was about stealing. These three friends lived in a cul-de-sac and would be up to no good, coming up with various ways to get money for the infamous jawbreakers.

"Johnny Bravo"

"Ohhhh Mama!" Johnny was a blonde stud who loved himself and flirting with pretty women. He wasn't the brightest bulb in the shed, but it sure was fun to watch his misadventures in life.

"Dexter's Laboratory"

My favorite thing to do was yell "Dee Dee" in his voice for the longest time. It was crazy awesome that this boy genius had his own secret lab. His inventions and missions were fun to watch, as were his various attempts to get away from his annoying sister and oblivious parents.

There are many more cartoons that made up my childhood, but these were the ones that stood out the most. Don't you wish you were a kid again, just sitting on the couch and binge-watch these shows as if responsibilities weren't a thing?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
