Because many colleges want to keep their students safe, they're transitioning from lectures to online instruction. Many students have never taken online classes and have no idea on how to balance taking so many classes online at once. As a way to help students ease into online classes, I compiled this list of tips for taking online classes.

1. Turn on notifications for EVERYTHING school related

Canvas, Blackboard, school email, etc. This will keep you from missing any important announcements, assignments, and changes in due dates.

2. Do NOT do work in your bed

If you do work from your bed, you're liable to fall asleep 10x easier. Try finding a nice, quiet place where you can focus.

3. Input all of your assignments into a planner and check it religiously

To keep from missing due dates, fill out a planner and check it 2-3 times daily.

4. Use checklists

Lots of people are like "Ehhh.. I don't need a checklist; I'll remember it." 9 times out of 10, they end up forgetting it.

5. Hold yourself accountable

Be organized, proactive, and self-aware. Online classes can become chaotic if you let them get the best of you.

6. Limit social media

Social media is a huge distraction these days. If you need to, set a limit on your phone on each app. Once you hit that limit, you won't have any other option but to study.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
