We all have that one friend who jumps from relationship to relationship. We all know that fake happiness and support we show for their relationship when we know the guy is a jerk.
Everyone has been in that situation at one point in their lives or another, where we had to fake it until we made it in supporting our friends “true love” until they broke up. Here’s how we’ve all felt, expressed by Julia Houston from "Smash."
1. The fake excitement you show when they say they've entered into yet another relationship.
I can only get happy for you so many times. When you get a new beau every two weeks, it's kind of hard for me to get excited for the new one when I was just starting to remember the old one's name.
2. When you have to be fake sad that their S.O. can't make plans you had for just the two of you.
Can't he come? Oh, no... Oh, well, better luck next time. Let's continue with these plans for the two of us without him, hmm?
3. When they don't listen to your advice.
Listen, girlfriend, I've seen you walk down this road a thousand times. I've seen you get your heart broken, and I've basically lived your mistakes with you. Why won't you listen to me when I tell you to take it slow? What's so wrong with being single for a while? Please answer those questions for me.
4. When they blow off plans with you for their S.O.
Who do you think is going to be here for you when you two break up, huh? It's certainly not going to be him! But, fine, have fun. I'll just watch "Friends" by myself...again.
5. When your friend asks your honest opinion of their new S.O.
Is this a trap? Do you really want honesty or do you want me to say what you want to hear? I'm not sure what you expect of me anymore.
6. When they finally break up a few weeks later.
We all knew this was coming (except, apparently, you) but it's still a cause for celebration. Break out the ice cream! Turn on the movies! Throw some confetti! He's gone, he's really gone! Now, we're free!
