6 Thoughts About Pokemon Moon (So Far!)
RedBull.com

As a lifelong "Pokemon" fan, I couldn't resist talking about Sun and Moon now that it's here! Here are some good and bad things about Sun and Moon! I'm still a little early in the game, but there may be spoilers! You have been warned!

The new Pokemon are so cute and cool this time around!

I know a lot of people gripe about "Pokemon" running out of ideas, I sometimes think that, too. But, this generation has a lot of neat Pokemon! For instance, I absolutely love, love, LOVE Popplio and it's evolution line. Like, I have never felt this much love for an evolution line since Torchic's;. Other cuties include Pikipek, Grubbin, and Yungoos. I just squee every time I see them!

Again, I have not gotten too far in the game, but I am anticipating some really cool Pokemon I've seen from the trailers down the road!

Return to Kanto!

I think Nintendo really stepped up this year since it's "Pokemon's" 20th anniversary. Going back to their roots with "Pokemon Go" and the original 151 Pokemon was amazing, and now they brought back them back to Sun and Moon!

On top of that, they have "Alola Forms" where they have different types and appearances! For example, Alola Ratatta is Dark/Normal, and Alola Raichu is Electric/Fairy! I can't wait to get an Alola Vulpix!!

An antagonist that isn't self-centered!? Gasp!

In "Pokemon Sun and Moon," you only have one rival, Hau, who is pretty upbeat, energetic and friendly! Most of your original rivals (e.g. Gary/Blue, Barry, Charon) usually battled you to satisfy some motive against you. Charon and Barry were a little different, but most of your interactions involved getting stronger.

Hau aspires to defeat his grandfather, Kahuna Hala, but also enjoys it from the get-go! He loves the adventure like you do, and that's very relatable!

Lillie is bae~

Lillie is one of the first characters you meet in the Alola region when you first start, a pacifist who takes care of a Cosmog named Nebby. Similar to Black and White characters, you can see visible character traits about her through her actions. A notable example is when she low-key envies you for being able to shop so freely. That gives some indication about her background.

Also, it's funny when you mess around with her depending on the dialogue prompts you choose. You can make her think you're a troublemaker!

I just find her to be such an interesting character. I did not do any research for spoilers sake, but I know she is going to play a major role later in the story based on some preemptive analysis. And I can't wait!

Now that I've gotten my fan squealing out of the way, let's talk about a couple downsides.

Performance issues

So, when I battle Totem Pokemon, the Kahunas, or multi-Pokemon battles, I noticed that the game and 3DS is a little slower compared to X/Y and OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire. Even when you first select the game or return Home, it takes a minute to load which is strange. This does not inhibit the gameplay, but it is quite odd.

Less emphasis on current generation Pokemon

While it's great that they are bringing in the nostalgia factor, I'm a little disappointed that there isn't more emphasis placed on the new Pokemon rather than the older Pokemon. Yes, there are side quests and plot points that do focus on the new 'Mons, I encounter more Pokemon from previous generations than current generation. And considering that

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
