Ah, winter break. The time for us college students to dispell all responsibilities related to school and recharge for next semester. Although it is tempting to watch all of Grey's Anatomy over a three week period (guilty as charged), it may be wise to try and be productive over break and prepare yourself for next semester.

1. Wake up early.

Even though it is break and we all love to sleep in, try to just go to bed early so you can get up around 8 or 9 am. If you get up in the morning, then your whole day will be more productive and less sluggish.

2. Study that foreign language.

For me, I have my second Italian class next semester, so I know that I need to review and study over break just to make sure I am prepared for the next level of my foreign language. It will help keep you busy and give you an edge when your foreign language class starts.

3. BUY YOUR BOOKS!

Make SURE to buy your books for next semester (Amazon Prime is your best friend) before it is too late! The earlier in the break the better.

4. Plan out your semester.

If you have a planner or just the calendar on your phone, note all of the important dates coming up during Winter semester, and if you have access to your syllabus then might as well put down papers, projects, and exams! The more prepared, the better!

5. Read a book.

Now that you have the time, try to read the book you couldn't get to during the semester with classes, work, and such.

6. Start a bullet journal.

Let me just say that I love my bullet journal when I was originally too scared that it would take too much time and I would just give up on it. For me it has become a big stress reliever and has helped me become more organized. I suggest starting one when you have the time over break.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
