Apple is to Siri, Windows is to Cortana, and Amazon is to...Alexa? Alexas everywhere now constantly struggle with their newest competitor - the Amazon Echo speaker with a voice robot device called Alexa. Alexas around the world now have to deal with people comparing them to this upscale Siri that just sits in your house and talks to you. However, we also are now tired of hearing the same things over and over again ever since Amazon's Alexa took off.

1. "Oh, your name is Alexa? Did you hear about what Amazon came out with?"

Yes, I've heard of Alexa. I do not live under a rock, thank you.

2. "Alexa, what's the weather like today?"

The person saying this to you probably thinks it's the funniest and most clever thing to say to a girl named Alexa. Well, surprise! We hear it all of the time. No, I am not your personal meteorologist. You have a smartphone, just look it up or utilize the Amazon echo speaker thing. Please do not speak to me like I am some robot.

3. "Alexa, tell me a story!"

Again, the person saying this to you probably thinks that they are a world-class comedian. Well, if you insist that I tell you a story, I can tell you about my day at work (there's never a dull moment, by the way), but I doubt that you would want to hear about that.

4. "Are you going to change your name because of Amazon's Alexa?"

Well, I was named Alexa way before robot Alexa debuted. So the answer is no, I cannot just decide to change my name. However, we would be lying if we said we haven't considered it because the questions and the constant talk of robot Alexa are rather irritating. We could go by nicknames such as Alex or Lexi or different name variations of Alexa such as Alexia or Alexis (some people choose to call me this anyway because I guess Alexa is just too hard to remember... *rolls eyes*).

5. "Do a lot of people ask you about the Alexa thing Amazon came out with?"

YES. Every time I now introduce myself it seems that my name itself is a conversation starter.

6. "This is the better Alexa."

You would think that they are referring to you, but no, they like Amazon's speaker better. The amount of times I've heard this from my friends who are proud owner's of Amazon's Alexa is uncanny. I guess robots are the direction that the world is going in nowadays!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
