6 Thing I Did On Vacation This Week Instead Of Coming Up With A Good Article Idea

When you're sitting back and relaxing on the shore of a beach in scenic Narragansett, Rhode Island, it's easy to let any other responsibilities you have just fade away. Which is why I totally forgot to come up with an idea for this week's article. Well, they always say to just write about what you know, so I'm just gonna tell you about all the things I did on my lovely vacation

1. Did some skimboarding

Okay, I'm not as good as that guy in the gif, but I still had a ton of fun with this. The basic premise is you throw the board onto the tide and then run after it and jump on it and then you just glide along the sand. It's like surfing, but less cool and more annoying to people just trying to take a walk on the beach.

2. Ate at two restaurants that Guy Fieri also ate at

I'll tell ya what, they may as well change the name of Narragansett to Flavortown. Two restaurants I ate at this week, Aunt Carrie's and Crazy Burger, were featured on Guy Fieri's Diner, Drive-Ins and Dives; a staple of food-slash-travel programming. You could almost feel the frosted tips as you entered the restaurant, eager to discover what distinguished this place enough to be Fieri worthy. I have to say, both were very delicious.

3. Saw the new Ghostbusters movie

What the hell were people complaining about? I loved this! It didn't try to be the original, it tried to be it's own thing, which worked well, and it didn't take itself too seriously either. Anyone complaining about this movie is probably just a misogynist who worships a shrine of Bill Murray every morning. Also, Kate McKinnon is bae.

4. Had a delicious and refreshing Del's frozen lemonade

I don't know what it is that makes this thing so delicious, but Del's frozen lemonade is one of the main reasons I keep coming back here. It's pretty much just sugar, ice, and lemonade, but there's something special in it that makes it literally one of the most refreshing things I've ever had. Also, they're only sold in Rhode Island, so if you're not a local, you'll have to take a trip to try it. Trust me, it will be worth it.

5. Watched all of Stranger Things

While my days were spent entirely on the beach, my nights were spent unwinding with some Netflix. My sibling recommended Stranger Things and we were immediately hooked. The pacing of the mystery was perfect. It kept me on my toes the whole time and I was always eagerly awaiting the next episode. The cast, especially the fantastic child actors, was also great. I would recommend if you're a fan of X-Files, Spielberg movies, or just good sci-fi in general.

6. Got pooped on by a seagull

You know how they say that there is a first for everything? Well, this was one of those things I could have lived a full, happy lifetime without experiencing. It wasn't too bad though. I was lying down reading my book when I suddenly felt something cold land on my swim trunks. I reached down to try and wipe it off but my mom warned me not too. I then realized what had happened, and then slowly and calmly walked down to the water to wash off. This, unlike everything else on this list, is not something I would recommend. (Also yes, as the gif shows, we had some nosy seagulls try to steal our food as well.)

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
