So, you know when you get home and you lie down on your bed and just cry? Because, same. It could be because you had a sh*t day, maybe you’re going through a heartbreak, or you could just feel down in the dumps. It is OK. We all have our off-days, we all suffer, we all get sad sometimes, and that is completely fine.
Personally, one of my favorite things to do when I am sad is totally cry all my feelings out to some sad, emotional music. Keep in mind that I am indeed a girl, and an emotional one at that. Astrologically speaking, I am Scorpio, and we are very emotional. So, my routine is to resort to Drake and his slow songs. This can also be called “Draking.” “Draking”: the process of listening to numerous emotional songs by Drake while in your “feels.” This can lead to long periods of sadness, possible drowsiness, and definite feels. And if Drake’s songs no longer suffice, I find more sad, slow music that I can bawl my eyes out to.
So, for you readers out there that are sad and feeling like you just want to listen to sad music and cry simultaneously, this is for you. Here, ladies and gentlemen, is a small selection of my Feels Playlist infused with some of Drake's best "feels" songs, and a few other sad songs of my liking. I hope you enjoy.
1. "Marvin’s Room" -- Drake
This song is a must. Its introduction is my personal favorite part of the entire song. Learning the lyrics really adds to the overall feel of the depressing song.
2. "Jungle" -- Drake
This song by Drake has an incredible bassline and an incredible beat. The song explains how in love Drake is with this mystery girl, and how he would do anything for her.
3. "Take Care" -- Drake
This beautiful duet by Rihanna and Drake is essential to my feels playlist. Close your eyes. Listen to the lyrics, and you will understand the power of the words.
4. "About You" -- Xxyyxx
I stumbled upon this song while finding tracks with a similar beat to “Jungle” by Drake, and I must say I was not disappointed. The female voice recording that can be heard is actually reversed within the song. If you feel like understanding her, she says “in here forever in time.” It’s pretty cool.
5. "Harveston Lake" (from the album "11") -- Johnny Rain
Being a person who has gone through recent heartbreak, I am an expert in sad love songs, trust me. This song was shown to me by a friend and completely made me cry.
6. "All I Want" -- Kodaline
This is a classic. It is an absolutely brilliant song and brings back so many memories. Really take in the lyrics.
Overall, I hope you end up feeling better after listening to this playlist and had the chance to release all of your tears and sadness. You are strong. I know you can get through this. Keep your head up. It'll get better.
