With summer just around the corner, I'm constantly telling myself I need to work on my "summer bod". I'll go through a whole plan where I'm gonna eat nothing but salads, drink only water, and work out for at LEAST an hour every day in the gym. But when the time comes to actually doing those things, it's pretty likely they aren't gonna happen, and here's why:
1. School
I'm a full time student which means two days a week I have classes at 9:30 a.m.-3p.m. and two days I have them at 2 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Which you'd think "why don't you just work out before/after class?" Well it's because that requires energy, and I just don't have enough at the end of the day.
2. Food
Need I say more? If you're like me, you can't resist something unhealthy and delicious like ice cream or that delicious looking butter filled recipe you found on Pinterest. It's hot outside, I want to enjoy my ice cream, or a nice cold glass of sweet tea. No one ever said "man, this heat is really making me crave a salad!" And if there is someone who's said that, you probably shouldn't be friends with them... or maybe you should because maybe they'll help you reach your summer bod.
3. Puppy
He does not sleep well at night. He constantly gets hot/cold so I'm constantly having to lift the covers up for him to go in and out of them. Not to mention, he wakes me up at 7 a.m. every. Single. Morning. So I don't get much sleep at night
4. Motivation
I lack completely in this department. Well, that was exaggerated a bit. I do have moments where I'm completely motivated, ready to get up and head to the gym to work out. I'll look at some pics in Instagram and am like "YES I can achieve that!" But most of the time I don't actually have enough motivation to get me off the couch or out of my bed for that matter. -P.S. Tammy Hembrow is my all time FAVORITE...like she is my motivation and I just love her and her cute little fam!
5. Weather
With the days getting longer and hotter, the first thing I want to do is soak up the sun, take my dog to the park, wash my car. I don't wanna be cooped up inside a gym when the weather is hot, sunny and slightly breezy. I have too much weight on my top shelf to be outside jogging too so you can throw that option in the trash!
6. I don't care all that much
Could I work on my body? Of course. Are there areas I would love to tone up and fix? No doubt. But I should be happy with who I am and how I look. I shouldn't be comparing myself to other girls. Who cares that I have a little extra meat on my bones? I sure shouldn't!
At the end of the day though, if you really want that summer bod, make goals, and prove to yourself that you can achieve those goals! Prove to yourself that if you have a goal set, you will be nothing but determined and dedicated to knocking it out! But girls, remember that we are all beautiful no matter what and we NEED to stop comparing ourselves to one another! It is a complete waste of time! You could be doing so much more with your life if you weren't spending all your time worrying about what others think! GIRL POWER!!
