It only happens once a year. It's the day you have to wear green, where leprechauns come to life, and the bars make the big bucks. It's St. Patrick's Day!

Here are 5 Reasons why St. Paddy's Day is the BEST Holiday of the year.

1. EVERYONE is Irish (even if you're not)

On St. Patrick's Day, everyone is Irish because everyone celebrates! Throw on some green and you're good to go. In fact, you're almost expected to conform and be Irish for the day or else you'll be pinched! So why not, embrace your inner Irish and have some fun with it.

2. ...and if you're "Irish" then that means you'll get some free kisses ;)

There is a famous saying, "Kiss me, I'm Irish" that is very common around this time of year. I mean, since we are all expected to wear green and embrace our inner Irish, we might as well take advantage, am I right?! Just don't forget your green lipstick ladies!

3. Green can really bring out your eyes.

Green is a great complimentary color and really brings out your eyes if you have brown or blue eyes. The more, the merrier! Get together and go all out this St. Patrick's Day. After all, if wearing green brings out those gorgeous eyes, then who could resist kissing you!

4. Dartys All Day, Bar Hop All Night

Darty=Day Party. If you are going to be on a college campus this St. Patrick's Day, then you're in for a treat. Rumor has it, here at JMU we are going to have some pretty epic dartys, and I hear some might even be having a moon bounce and mechanical bull. Go and have fun with your friends. If you're 21 and over, enjoy the nightlife and go to some bars and drink some green beer, just stay safe and be classy :)

5. Shamrock Shake

It is only here once a year, that's right folks, it is McDonald's love and cherished Shamrock Shake. This beautiful green, minty, refreshing milkshake will make your taste buds do a happy Irish jig! Take a ride and fill up on some McDonald's and Shamrock Shake this St. Patrick's Day.

6. It's a Lucky Day!

One big component of the St. Paddy's day is luck. Whether you're into the idea of luck or not, might as well take a chance and see where it might take you this St. Patrick's Day. I mean, how could you not love a holiday that is all about things playing out in your favor.

Get your shamrock shake in hand, green lipstick on, and embrace your inner Irish as you celebrate this St. Paddy's Day!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
