6 Reasons Girls Dread Summer

It's not all fun in the sun.

Pack your spring clothes away and get all of your summer gear out! Summer implies that school is out, which means no more long nights of studying and cramming in the library with your friends. It's time to go to the beach and grab the perfect spot in front of the sun and unwind. Summer brings new trends, adventures and memories, but there are a few challenges us ladies have to face year after year. Some are gross and others are just straight funny.

1. Tan Lines

It would be wonderful if we could just tan completely and be one solid skin tone all throughout summer! With all of the different tank tops, dresses, shorts and bathing suits we are setting ourselves up to get awkward tan lines on our bodies. The funny thing is that we don't even notice what the sun did to our skin until we get home to take a shower. However, the bright side is that we can get to be a rainbow of different skin tones. (Please, don’t forget your sunblock!)

2. Makeup melting off

There’s nothing worse than sitting in front of the mirror with your blending brush to get that perfect summer eye shadow look to have it ruined by our good old friend―the sun. Even though there's many setting sprays and primers in the market, it could only do so much. I cannot find the perfect word to describe the sensation of feeling your makeup melting off, mixing with your sweat. The only remedy here is to go natural or to just keep spraying that setting spray.

3. Bras

I mean bras are annoying all year long, but in summer they’re only ten times more annoying. It’s hot, we’re sweating, we have a bra on, do the math! Bras are the worse impediment in any girls world. They're expensive, and if you buy the cheap ones you'll find yourself buying a new one in no time! How about the strapless bras? I don't know about you ladies, but I have trust issues with those bras. They do not feel safe and it's a constant game of pulling them up. And with the off the shoulder tops being in this season, many of us are going to be wearing those annoying things.

4. Getting stuck on chairs

We've all been there: we're out getting ice cream in our cute outfits and when it's time to go, we feel like we're stuck to our seats. If we're lucky enough with a seat that has a unique design, we'll also have those marks on the back of our legs. I wish I could insert a solution here but there's really no fix to this one.

5. Wiping sweat off

Speaking of sweat, it's always so tempting to want to wipe the sweat off of our faces and neck! It's an icky feeling, but it just makes things worse. Also, how about the gross sensation of feeling like your clothes are stuck to your body? Just wait until you get home to take a good shower. Show your natural glow to the world!

6. Shaving yo legs!

No-Shave November definitely does not apply here. All during summer, we have to constantly shave our legs to have those nice smooth and slick legs. We do not want to have those nasty pricks and we do not want anyone to feel our legs like that. Just some advice, shave at the end of your shower. The hair on your legs will soften by then. Also, use a razor that has hydration for a nice finish. You're welcome!

Have a fun and safe summer beautiful ladies!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
