I love concerts. Going to concerts is my favorite activity in the entire world. There is something about seeing your favorite artist singing your favorite songs live that just makes you feel at home. I have been to a lot of concerts. I have realized that each artist has their own way of putting on a show. Their interpretation of how they want their audience to feel during and after the concert varies. Even after going to tons of shows, one specific artists’ shows stick out to me.

Ed Sheeran. Now, if you know me, you know that I love Ed Sheeran. My love for this man does not dictate how great of a show he puts on. He truly has a talent and I feel as though this talent must be witnessed live. So, if you are reading this, hopefully, I can convince you to go to at least one Ed Sheeran concert throughout your lifetime.

1. His shows are very music – focused.

Although he has lighting that goes with his music, he focuses mainly on the music rather than a huge production. Don’t get me wrong, productions are awesome to see live but that isn’t for every artist. And that certainly is not for Ed.

2. His music.

If this is not a good enough reason to get you to go see him live then I honestly might as well just give up now.

…Just kidding.

3. His various tempos.

Ed Sheeran’s style of music alternates. One second he is singing about love, the next heartbreak. Then he brings out some Irish themed music, a few rap songs and then brings it back to a style filled with nostalgia. I mean, come on. Who doesn’t love a show that keeps you on your toes?

4. He is literally a one-man show.

That’s right. He is on the stage. All by himself. Just a man and his guitar… and a loop station. Meaning, there is a musical build-up to every song. Every. Single. Song.

5. His raw talent.

He leaves you speechless. You cannot even begin to explain how great he is live and how the experience was because of how surprised you are by the fact that someone can even be that talented. You can’t help but feel relaxed by his melodies and immersed in his voice.

6. The atmosphere.

The various musical styles he brings out during his shows allows everyone to feel at home and safe. He leaves everyone feeling understood. He leaves everyone feeling happy. He leaves everyone feeling fulfilled.

Do yourself a favor and go see Ed Sheeran live. I promise that if you do, you will not be disappointed.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
