I've always loved baking, but lately, I've found myself wanting to bake whenever I can, especially at home. I think it's because baking relaxes me in the middle of all of the stress from school and working. When I go home, I will always ask if I can bake something. My mom will come into the kitchen to see me standing in the middle of it. She knows exactly what I'm going to ask before I even open my mouth. Here are a few reasons why I love baking.
1. You have a recipe that tells you exactly what to do.
It tells you what you need, what to do, how to do it, for how long...
2. You don't have to focus solely on baking
You can listen to music, watch TV, or just think.
3. There's a little bit of downtime while your food bakes.
You can use this time to do anything your heart desires, as long as it's within earshot of the oven.
4. You can be creative, even if you can't draw.
I, for one, can't draw. I can, however, pipe icing, choux, fillings, etc. really well and with a pretty steady hand. Crazy, I know.
5. There are so many things to make!
Cookies, cupcakes, cakes, macarons, bread, muffins, pastries.....
6. You get to eat what you made.
We all know the best part of making food is eating it.
