6 Places Dogs Should Be Allowed

Everywhere, that's where!

6 Places Dogs Should Be Allowed
Carie Gayden

So recently, I got a puppy. Over the course of the past few weeks, we’ve bonded in an extremely unusual way. I’ve really never been a dog person so needless to say when my boyfriend got me a puppy for my birthday, I thought he was cute, but there was no way I was gonna fall in love with a dog…it just wouldn’t happen. I’m too reasonable for that.

Except that’s the opposite of what happened. Now that I have a puppy, it’s my best friend, and I’ve started to neglect my social life in order to watch Netflix with him.

Because of this recent relationship development, I have noticed that there are not many places I am able to take my pup. So, I decided (partly jokingly) to publicly share the six the places I think dogs should be allowed.

1. The Movie Theater

It’s been a long day, and all you want is to chill and see a movie. The bad news, all your friends are busy doing cool things without you and you’re all alone. You do have one friend you can bring but they’re “not allowed." I mean really, how harmless could it be?

2. The Grocery Store

I realize the “dangers” in taking your dog to the store, I really do. He might eat things or bite someone but I mean if you’re just going into pick up a banana or two, let the little guy come with you, am I right?

3. To Church

I mean this one just makes sense, does it not? God literally made dogs. How could they “not be allowed to come in the sanctuary”? This is a no-brainer guys.

4. Target

I mean with all the controversy going on at Target, the least they can do is let dogs come in too. I think this is reasonable, I mean their mascot is a dog…

5. Class

This might be stretching it, but if you have a dog that is well-behaved and able to contain itself, I see no problem. If people complain about being “distracted” then they can be moved to another class. It happens all the time.

6. Other People's Houses

This is a bit personal, but if you’re that friend that’s says, “No you can’t bring your dog over,” then stop being that person. Dogs are great. I know now that they’re great and you should be glad to let little puppy come play with you.

I know there are others out there that feel the same way I do. If you don’t understand, get a puppy that’s really cute and keep it for a while, and then you will understand. For all my other dog homies out there, just know you’re not alone in wanting to bring your dog everywhere.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
