I can't remember the last time summer was this jam packed with potentially great movies, so let's go over the headliners.
1. Jurassic World. When I was a kid, all I wanted in life was to visit Jurassic Park and see a T-Rex. Obviously that would never happen, so this next installment in the Jurassic Franchise will have to do. The hype surrounding Jurassic World couldn't be bigger and I can't wait. Chris Pratt is the main star in the first "Jurassic" movie in 14 years and could prove to be a valuable asset to the franchise. In one scene during the trailer, he commands Velociraptors. Yeah. For real. You best believe that I'm gonna be there on opening night.
2. Entourage. Vinny, Turtle, E, and Johnny Drama are back for the movie everyone has been waiting for. If you haven't seen the series on HBO, you need to go buy an HBO account pronto and watch all eight seasons. Entourage is my favorite series of all time and the fact that I get to see Ari Gold scream at another intern makes my heart fill with joy. Now that Ari is the studio head at Warner Bros. the possibilities for his rage are endless. It comes out June 3rd and once again, I will be there.
3. The Avengers: Age of Ultron. I didn't think that the Avengers franchise could beat the first installment in this blockbuster series, but they proved me wrong. Although this movie came out before we left school, it's definitely meant for the summer. Without divulging any spoilers, Tony Stark and the gang are back in a RIDICULOUS movie that blew my eyeballs off. If you haven't seen it, you are stupid and I hate you.
4. Pitch Perfect 2. Yes, you heard right. The movie that we all begged for has come out and although I haven't seen it yet, I have heard from reputable sources that it is fantastic. The Bellas have decided to enter into a global accapella competition and it can only go up from there. Make sure you go see this movie.
5. Ted 2. Seth McFarlane's foul mouthed Teddy bear is back with Ted 2. I'm hoping that it can live up to the first movie because it was pure gold. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Ted do drugs, get drunk, and have insane sex because of the irony that the movie bases its entire point on. This could potentially be a Redbox movie, but it very well could be a blockbuster.
6. Magic Mike: XXL. I haven't seen the first one and I most likely won't see this one but I've been told it's a great movie from women. Channing Tatum straps on the man thong once more for a road trip to Myrtle Beach for a stripping convention. Now that I write this, I will most definitely not be watching this movie but you guys should totally give it a shot.
Well, I'm sure I missed a few big blockbusters that are coming out but these are some movies you really shouldn't miss. I will have seen five of the six I've listed come August, maybe y'all could try for all six.
