As a young college student who is full of life to live, I tend to daydream a lot about the endless opportunities the world has to offer. But, also due to the fact that I am a young college student who is full of life to live, I don't exactly have the funds to achieve all of my adventurous ideas. Luckily, the area surrounding UCF is chock-full of fun activities to do and places to go, and I figure there have to be some people like me who want to venture out and do some less-expensive things around the area. All you'll need is a car, a little cash, and your friends!

1. Enzian Theatre

This single-screen cinema cafe, located in Maitland, Florida, is absolutely full of character! Approximately 30 minutes away from UCF, this theatre has tables for movie-goers to eat at while watching a film on the big screen. This theatre hosts the Florida Film Festival--which is not odd, considering Enzian's motto is "Film Is Art".

2. Farris and Foster's Chocolate Factory

Only about 10 miles away from UCF, Farris and Foster's has a huge variety of chocolate options--and I mean huge. From sugar-free chocolate to caramel apples, Farris and Foster's will have an option for everyone. The best part is that they have special pricing for couples, parties, and families!

3. Aiguille Rock Climbing Center

Now, this is a place most people probably have no idea exists. If you're interested in rock climbing and bouldering (with varying levels of difficulty), this is the place for you! Located in Longwood, Florida, it is not a far drive from UCF at all, and once you pay, you get free admission for the entire day.

4. Orlando Farmers Market

One of my favorite things to do every Sunday is attend the Lake Eola farmers market in Downtown Orlando. Although this is only held on Sundays, the nice part about this event is that it's absolutely free to attend! Bringing money is thus optional--but I highly recommend bringing some to buy a smoothie and some knick-knacks!

5. Paddleboard Orlando

A quick 30-minute drive is all that is needed to arrive at this destination! If you've ever been interested in paddleboarding, this is the place for you. Rentals are relatively cheap, and they even offer private lessons if you'd like to take them. This company has two locations: Winter Park and Longwood. Hours of operation differ between both locations, so make sure to check beforehand!

6. Wekiwa Springs State Park

The location of this park is a tad further away from UCF than the previous activities, but it will definitely be worth it with all of its possibilities! Wekiwa Springs is approximately 40 minutes away from the main UCF campus, and offers a multitude of activities, including horseback riding, camping, kayaking, and taking a dip in the Wekiwa Springs water. It's even possible to lay out a blanket and have a picnic under the sun.

While it may get tough sometimes being a broke college student, never lose hope! The Orlando area has hidden treasures at every turn--we just have to search for them. These are just a few of the many things the UCF area has to offer, but with time, I'm sure many more will be introduced to us for our enjoyment. Now get out there and start your adventure!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
