The school year is officially in full swing- whether you're a Calvary student or a SCAD student- which means homework is piling, exams are waiting, and stress levels are slowly climbing. In the midst of the craziness, it's important to have a little fun. Especially with your buds.

Here are six places in downtown SAV to hit up with your girls when you are desperate for a GNO:

1. Lulu's Chocolate Bar

WHAT: Dessert & Bar

WHERE: 42 MLK Jr Blvd

WHY: The name is pretty self-explanatory. A chocolate bar? Say no more. Lulu's offers everything from delectable cheese platters to rich frozen hot chocolate. Not to mention beautiful drinks.

MUST-HAVE: Chocolate-covered strawberries. Simple as that.

2. Corleone's Trattoria

WHAT: Italian Dining

WHERE: 44 MLK Jr Blvd

WHY: Corleone's is delicious and homey. It's a beautiful Italian restaurant yet has a hole-in-the-way kind of vibe. Which makes it all the better. Try everything from the traditional caprese salad to the manicotti.

MUST-HAVE: Baked ziti. Go the traditional route.

3. The Coffee Fox

WHAT: Coffee & Dessert

WHERE: 102 W Broughton St

WHY: The Coffee Fox is a great stop for some drinks and snacks after a night of shopping on Broughton, especially in the autumn/winter. It's cozy and a great place to study (when you're not GNO-ing). The snacks (cookies, brownies, bars, etc.) pair well with a good cappuccino or shot-in-the-dark.

MUST-HAVE: Mexican Mocha. Spicy cinnamon and double-shot of espresso guaranteed to warm you up.

4. Chive Seabar & Lounge

WHAT: Seafood Lunch & Dinner

WHERE: 4 W Broughton St

WHY: Chive has an elegant yet modern feel. The seafood dishes are light and fresh... not heavy. Great place for a girl's night or a lunch with mom.

MUST-HAVE: Organic Salmon Salad. Mostly because the salmon is fantastic.

5. The Paris Market and Brocante

WHAT: Shopping & Snacking

WHERE: 36 W Broughton St, Savannah, GA

WHY: Paris Market is a great place to shop for everything from lotions to furniture. Look for goods from around the world. There is also a snack stop with treats ranging from macaroons to teas.

MUST-HAVE: In terms of shopping... antique jewelry grab-bags. In terms of snacks... frozen hot chocolate topped with pink whipped cream.

6. Gryphon (Tea Room)

WHAT: Tea & Snacks

WHERE: 337 Bull St, Savannah, GA

WHY: Gryphon was an apothecary turned restaurant (with the help of SCAD). It has a unique vibe with its retro yet elegant ambiance. Look for everything from classic chicken salad to traditional blueberry scones.

MUST-HAVE: Grilled pimento cheese. Simple yet amazing.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
