The 1900's was a wild time. From the first and second World War, the stock market crash, the African American Civil Right's Movement, and the construction and demolition of the Berlin Wall, it was a busy time, but even during this busy time, the fashion industry was booming. Breaking free from other countries fashion expectations, America was finally setting their own trends or revamping others.

1. Chokers.

Choker's date back to the Sumer empire in Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt when they were worn for protection, but in the early 1900's they became a fashion statement. In American culture, they became popular with either a simple black ribbon or even strands of pearls. After the Art Deco era, they lost their popularity and were even known as "Dog Collars". It wasn't until 2015, that they really made a comeback.

2. High top converse.

Originating in the early 1900's, Chuck Taylor started selling these shoes for basketball. It wasn't until the 1980's that these became a must-have for fashion. In the early 2000's, trendsetters have rushed to grab the latest pair of low-tops, but in recent years, the revival of high-tops are prominent.

3. Crop tops.

Celebrities in the 1990's rocked the crop top and now, everyone's doing it. This fashion trend was revived in the mid-2010's and doesn't seem to be disappearing any time soon.

4. High-waisted jeans.

Glamourized by Hollywood, High Waisted jeans started their fame with Marilyn Monroe in the 1960's. From the 1960's on, High Waisted jeans popped in and out of stardom. In today's, fashion trends, you can catch these jeans on teens across the globe.

5. Velvet.

In the 1960's velvet was extremely popular among men and were known for the comfortable shirts and pants of that time. Now, it is seen everywhere and is popular in women's fashion. You can rock an all velvet outfit from your choker and crop top to your High Top Chuck Taylor's.

6. Fanny packs.

When fanny packs first entered the fashion world, these bags were popular among sports players like skiers to hold their lunches. In the 1980's to 1990's it became a vacation bag that was more accessible and lightweight holding things like money and maps but for today, it's that and more. You can see these on almost anyone walking the streets of Hollywood but maybe with an updated, more stylish version.

7. Clout goggles.

Known by a different name, 'The Kurt Cobain Glasses", Cobain brought these glasses into style. They were revived with "rappers" of this generation along with the new name of "Clout Goggles" attached to them.
