So let me set the scene for you.. you have work in 40 minutes, it takes 50 minutes to get there, and you haven't left yet. What's going through your head? Here is a play by play of the actual stream of consciousness in regards to being late.

  1. Get in the car and realize I took too long eating that cereal.
  2. Plethora of swear words as I realize I am going to be late.
  3. I think I can get there in time..
  4. WHO AM I KIDDING I WILL NEVER GET THERE IN TIME!
  5. Oh well, I have accepted it, I am going to be late.
  6. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?? I AM NEVER LATE!
  7. Do I still have time for coffee?
  8. It’s okay I’m not usually late they wont be that mad.
  9. Maybe I should call them? Tell them I will be late?
  10. Maybe they won’t even notice if I don’t call.
  11. They don’t typically need me the first 15 minutes anyways.
  12. If I am going to be 15 minutes late what is 20 minutes? I think I should get that coffee.
  13. If I don’t buy the coffee then I wont be a worth while employee anyways, it is worth the extra couple minutes.
  14. Stops, Buys coffee.
  15. Maybe speeding will help.
  16. But if I speed I will get pulled over and if I get pulled over how do I explain that to my boss?
  17. At least then I have a reason for being late, I can just apologize, I am human.
  18. Maybe I should try and get pulled over!!
  19. If I get pulled over I seem even less responsible.
  20. If I don’t seem responsible will they fire me?
  21. Am I going to lose my job over that one bowl of cereal??
  22. Then I wont be able to go out to eat.
  23. Then I will only be eating cereal!
  24. I wont have money for groceries.
  25. I wont even be able to have cereal!!!!
  26. It is almost the holiday season I NEED this job.
  27. The coffee was worth it though.
  28. Oh shoot. They are going to see my coffee and know that I stopped.
  29. Chugs coffee.
  30. Maybe I have time to stop for another coffee now?
  31. No, no, I will just buy a coffee on my break.
  32. WHY IS THIS CAR DRIVING SO SLOW GET OUT OF THE FAST LANE DON’T YOU KNOW SOME OF US HAVE PLACES TO BE.
  33. Blasts music to distract from the anger.
  34. If I get pulled over maybe that will justify why I am late!
  35. Tries to weave through traffic, gets even further behind than expected.
  36. WHY DO NONE OF YOU KNOW HOW TO DRIVE?
  37. Becomes a jack ass driver.
  38. Maybe if I take this exit Siri will reroute me with some magical shortcut!
  39. Probably shouldn’t take that chance.
  40. Maybe on my day off I will try and find the shortest way to work, that sounds like fun!!!
  41. Who am I kidding on my day off I am taking naps and eating snacks.
  42. I will have all my days off if I don’t get to work on time!!!
  43. How late am I really going to be?
  44. Have I shaved any time off my ETA?
  45. Maybe my boss was late today too, maybe it is one of those days.
  46. Maybe all the people around me are late too.
  47. Maybe all of our bosses will understand.
  48. Passes reason for traffic, sees a slight accident.
  49. Stares for longer than I should.
  50. Almost hits car in front of me.
  51. If that had happened I think I would just call out all together.
  52. Arrives to work.
  53. Why doesn't anybody notice I'm late?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
