Life can be tough. Sometimes you're prepared for the cards it deals you, but more often than not... you're completely unprepared. Coincidentally, in those cases, you find that you can never get a hold of your best bud at a moment's notice for when you're handed a bad bunch of lemons.

These are the times when you need to be your own cheerleader. Unfortunately, not everyone will always be around for when you need a quick reminder of how kick-ass you are, so self-affirmations can become quite useful!

According to Dictionary.com, the definition of self-affirmation is, "theassertionthatsomethingexistsoristrue". Self-affirmation is the simple act of telling yourself something positive that is true and that exists. I'm well aware that in the middle of a terrible day it can be hard to muster up the energy to spread positivity, so, here's a handy dandy list of 50 positive affirmations for when you need to be your own cheerleader.

1. I will get through this. I have made it this far and I will continue on this path.

2. This is just a minor setback, I have the power to make things right.

3. I am worthy of happiness.

4. I will inhale positivity, and exhale negativity.

5. What I am stressing over right now is merely a moment in time. A year from now I won't be worried about this.

6. I cannot control everything, but I am in control of how I react to things, and I'm reacting normally.

7. My feelings are valid.

8. I am the maker of my life. I can decide what to do and what not to do.

10. Things are hard right now, but I know it will only be for a short time.
