Many high school and college students get summer or year long jobs to make money. Others do internships or observation programs to get experience in their careers of interest. If you are someone with an internship or just too busy with summer stuff for a real 9-5 job, here are some ways to earn some extra cash easily and in a way that works for your individual schedule.

1. Pet Sitting

Many people take vacations during the summer and have to leave their pets. Most people just leave their cats at home and send their dogs to the kennel. Instead, you can offer to watch and keep pets of neighbors and charge a reasonable amount of money. This can be very successful if you send out flyers to spread the word to neighbors and friends so they know about your service.

2. Gardening

No one can resist baked goods, especially when someone offers them baked goods on the spot for just a dollar or two. If you make a batch of brownies or cookies and individually wrap them, you can take them to a meeting or public place and just sell them to people for $1-2 and make a fortune.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
