I can't start this without referencing High School Musical.
- Keep the faith -
1. Schedule an appointment with your devotional.
There are a countless amounts of devotionals with emphasis on different age groups, gender, or marital status. A few devotionals that I have become quite fond of are:
1.What Happens When Women Walk In Faith by Lysa Terkeurst
2. Any of Katie Orr's books including Everyday Love, Everyday Faith, Everyday Peace, and Everyday Hope
3. Jesus Calling by Sarah Young
2. Look for youth groups around campus.
This one might be more difficult than actually going to church. Find youth groups on campus and see where they all go to church. You'll be making friends plus staying connected with your faith.
3. Bible Study
You know when you find a quote on Pinterest and it suddenly becomes your new mantra. Well that is a simplistic way of really diving into reading. Bible studies could be done with a group of people or independently.
Here is one that is short and sweet that you could do in the morning (while your coffee is brewing) :
This one is from The Felicity BeeShe encourages readers to read the selected verses and then use calligraphy to write about the verse. This is the perfect way to get your creative juices flowing right after your feet hit the ground.
4. Podcasts
I love listening to podcasts while driving because I (hate to admit it but...) constantly change the radio station. Podcasts can be found anywhere on the internet, but I prefer to listen to them through the Podcast app on the iPhone App Store. One is by Lysa Terkeurst who talks about the principle of being on a journey with God. And if you crave a good (clean) laugh, then she is your girl. Her podcast is called Generous Giving
Next is Rich Wilkerson Jr. who made an brief appearance on Oxygen Network with a show called Rich in Faith. He is a pastor based in Miami, incorporating a contemporary feel on Christian faith. His podcast is included in a series called An Anchor Called Hope. You can find more of his podcasts on iTunes or Podcasts, but here is one that stood out to me. An Anchor Called Hope- Hope Deferred
5. Forgiveness
College is full of mistakes. Some are bigger than others, but it feels the exact same. The pit-in-the-stomach ache that is a constant reminder that you've done something wrong. The most important aspect of "making a mistake" is the solution. Forgiveness starts with yourself, because we praise a God who knows that we get distracted. Some times we are pressured to do faithless activities that make us feel empty rather than worthy. Forgiveness is doing your part. It starts with changing your priorities to activites that are praiseworthy rather than shameful.
