Summer has finally arrived! We all get a break from school, we have more free time than we know what to do with, and there's also another thing that a lot of us do most of summer now that we're adults. We work. However, during the summer you need to remember that you still need your chill time with your friends! Earning money is great, but don't you want to spend a little of it by spoiling your friend for their birthday? There are tons of fun things you can do during the summer. While most people think Netflix, sleep, and work, there are tons of other things you can do to keep yourself from being bored during these next few months without school. I came up with five big things that I myself will be trying to do now that school is out.

1. Go out with friends.

Friends make life awesome, and if you forget to spend time with them you may lose some pretty cool people in your life. Make a quick phone call, play League of Legends online with your friends, you don't always have to see them to have a good time with them. But don't forget the outdoor things too, especially while the weather is nice. Go to a park, play Flag Football, or regular football if you all are crazy enough. Go see midnight premieres, enjoy not having to get home early because of a responsibility every day of the week. Just have fun with each other!

2. Go on dates.

Whether or not you're in a relationship, go out and have some fun! Meet people, have a summer fling that may end up being more at the end of summer, just enjoy the summer. It doesn't always have to be work and sleep, and you don't have to spend every waking moment with your friends either. You all need your space from each other too.

3. Nap time can be a real thing now.

I myself had found nap time during the school year, but now it's even more of a reality! I can go to work for a few hours, come back, take a nap, and then call up a friend to see if they want to meet up later. The nice thing about not worrying about school during the days of the week is that you're allowed to mess up your sleep schedule for a month or two. Enjoy the freedom while you can!

4. Don't forget to spoil yourself.

There's a movie you want to see that none of your friends are interested in? Go see it! You work, you have a bit of extra money, just do it! Treat yourself to a "you" day, buy a new outfit that happened to be on sale while you were at the mall, just do something for yourself. Reminding yourself that you deserve those little things is great, and if you do it over the summer you may actually feel pumped when it's time to go back to school in a few months.

5. Have outdoor adventures.

Whether you go alone, or with one or 10 other people, go out while the sun is out! Hike, ride your bike, go camping, just get out there! You may discover that you love fishing, or watching your friend fail and attempting to fly a kite. Maybe you're really good at flying kites and you can rub it in all their faces! Soak up some sun while we have it. Just don't forget sunscreen if you're anything like me!

Summer is an awesome time of year and we can't take it for granted. We can watch Netflix during the winter when the snow has us trapped in our houses, but let's go enjoy the sun while we're able to go see our friends. Summer is a great time for fun times and memories, so let's go make some.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
